Assistant Pastor/Music Leader Timothy Harvey

In 1976, Timothy J. Harvey accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 17, at Shining Star Baptist church in Baltimore, Maryland.  From there on he grew in the knowledge of the Lord, studying the Word of God to show himself approved of God rightly teaching the word of truth even unto this present day.

Rev. Timothy J. Harvey accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry in May of 1986 at True Vine Baptist Church in Clearfield, Utah and he was ordained in may of 1989.  After being called, Rev. Harvey meticulously involved himself in Ministry opportunities such as Christian Education, Leadership and Development, Youth Ministry and Music Ministry.  Rev. Harvey is a leader and has devoted himself to spiritual development.  Rev. Harvey attended Wayland Baptist University.

Rev. Harvey has been active in the Youth Ministry, Music Ministry, Teaching Ministry; he has served as both an associate minister and is currently Assistant Pastor at NJMBC in Tucson, AZ.

Rev. Harvey served as a proud member of the Unites States Air Force for 23 years as an Aircraft Electrician and Environmental Systems Craftsman.  After retiring from the Air force, Rev. Harvey moved to Tucson, AZ in 2003, where he is currently employed by the USAF working as a civilian. He became a member of NJMBC in 2004 where he currently serves.  His responsibilities include:  Minister of Music, Teaching Ministry and he provides assistance to the Pastoral Ministries. Rev. Harvey also serves as the Recording Secretary for the Minister's Conference of the Southern District Association (SDA).

Rev. Harvey and his lovely wife, Trish were married on July 25,2009 and they share together four beautiful children, Timothy Jr., Gabriel, Michael and Angel.     

  

Associate Pastor Willie Handy

Pastor Willie A. Handy was born in San Francisco, California but was moved to Magnolia, Mississippi after the death of his mother in 1962.  It was there he completed his Elementary and High School training.  After graduation he attended Prentiss Junior College for one year and then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 20 years.  But before moving to his first assignment (Oscoda, Michigan), he married his childhood sweetheart, Betty J. Dawson.  The Lord has blessed that union with three beautiful girls, Sandra, Belinda and Christina.

Pastor Handy accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in January 1970 and has faithfully served in various positions as needed while working to enlarge the Kingdom of God.  He has a genuine heart to help wherever needed.  After retiring from the military he then embarked on a second career by joining the Civil Service work force.  He is now retired from work at the Veteran’s Administration here in Tucson, Arizona.

Pastor Handy is licensed and ordained as a Deacon as well as a Minster of the Gospel.  He attended the Mountain States Baptist College and also completed correspondence classes through the Moody Bible Institute.

Since his salvation, he has attended many churches during his military career where he is/has served as Assistant Pastor, Outreach Ministry Leader, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School and teacher, President of the Men’s Ministry, Deacon, President of the Men’s Choir, Vice-President of the Combined Choir, Leader of the Church Bus Ministry, and Chairman of the Deacon Board.  He also served on the AME Steward Board.  Pastor Handy sang in the choir, was leader of children’s church, church treasurer, and also was an Interim Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, and Missions Instructor and taught Bible Study.  He has been instrumental in the establishment and organization of two churches, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Great Falls, Montana and the Faith Fundamental Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona which is now merged with Bethel Baptist Church.
